When you’re designing an iOS app, keep in mind that it’s the app icon that will be seen on a daily basis. While you’re refining and polishing and perfecting the app interface, it’s the icon that will be seen most often – and so it’s important to spend a lot of care and attention on creating a beautifully crafted app icon too.

A superbly designed icon has unexpected benefits. A nicely designed icon may be more likely to be added to the user’s home screen, and as such could result in your app being used more often. It may even be the difference between a user choosing to download your product from the App Store instead of a competitor.
