Lightweight Slideshow Script

There is been a while since I have posted any article here, but this has a very good reason. I have been lately busy in some projects and I had no time left for posting, another good reason is that I am working on a new design for my online portfolio. In the mean time I will pause posting until I finish projects in progress and my online portfolio.
Any way lets get back to the main issue. I have recently been looking for wonderful free scripts to get inspiration from and I stumbled upon this one, which is called BarackSlideshow by Devthought. I know that the name might seem a little political but this is because the script makers got the inspiration from Barack Obama’s website. Any way you can view it and I hope it can be helpful.

PopBox Moving and Resizing Images – Easy, Simple, Dynamic

PopBox is an image magnification javascript solution for dynamically moving and resizing images on your web page. Javascript? Yes – I know it’s nothing new and that you’ve been able to move and resize things in Javascript for years, but only now is there a prepackaged solution that makes it as easy as 3 lines of HTML without knowing a lick about positioning!

If your web site has a thumbnail image gallery then you need PopBox!

Main Features

  • Ridiculously simple to use.
  • Does not navigate away from the page or create separate windows.
  • Does not require any special browser plug-ins. 100% script and CSS solution.
  • Includes a multi-line caption capability that dynamically sizes to fit.
  • Allows for a different image to be used for the thumbnail and Popped images – on page load or on image click.
  • Can display a user-defined text message across the top of the image on page load on the thumbnail image.
  • Can display a user-defined text message across the top of the image after it has been popped.

Open Source Alternative

What is Open Source Alternative?

Open Source Alternative or oslat.com is a website that lists an Open Source Software alternative to a well-known Commercial Software. This is very good if you can not afford buying a commercial software and you are in need of the features that the software provides, in this website you can look for the alternative for this commercial software. I must say that it is listing more and more software alternatives each day but I must say that you may not find an alternative for some commercial softwares that you want but you can suggest this software. The website has many categories for software products such as Graphic applications, development, security & privacy, web development and many more.

ModalBox – Web 2.0-style Modal Dialogs and Wizards

What is ModalBox?

ModalBox is a JavaScript technique for creating modern (Web 2.0-style) modal dialogs or even wizards (sequences of dialogs) without using conventional popups and page reloads. It’s inspired by Mac OS X modal dialogs. And yes, it may also be useful for showing bigger versions of images.

ModalBox is built with pure JavaScript and is based on Sam Stephenson’s excellent Prototype JavaScript Framework, script.aculo.us and valid XHTML/CSS. ModalBox uses AJAX to load content.

ModalBox technique is still in development. Believe me it is wonderful.
